We were SO excited to welcome home Andy! Andy is one of Will's best friends and we are so thrilled to be stationed in Hawaii with him. Will and Andy both went to West Point, ran track together all four years, and just love each other in a very best friend/brotherly way. He is an Infantry Officer who has been deployed for a year in Afghanistan; from the pictures that I have seen so far, his experiences seems very different from Will!
The deployment ceremony was a very sentimental and patriotic with lots of smiling wives and waving kids. I loved seeing all of the families reunited... it definitely was a bit bittersweet with our Will being gone, but soon enough he will be home! I am hoping for a speedy ten months.
Sorry for these pictures... they really don't do justice or capture the joy! The ceremony was also at 4:10 am, yes you read that right... so everyone was a bit sleepy! Good Old Army time!
