Summer Update!

Summer has flown by in our house! We have been busy enjoying the beautiful outdoor weather (I mean we live in Hawaii afterall...).

In July, I finally got the hang of going to the beach/pool solo with the two kids; we have been fully taking advantage of both! Harps has been taking swim lessons once a week and I have seen some crazy improvement! Needless to say she is rather fearless. Her trike riding skills are improving (I adore the photo above because you see her prized elephant resting on the back- too cute). She has also become princess obsessed and loves to sing "let it go!". She has continued ballet and just started tap too.

Liam has mastered rolling and sucking his thumb! He continues to be our fat boy topping the scales in the 90th percent tile. I absolutely adore his snuggles- nothing sweeter than a chubby baby boy. His temperament is very happy and wild- he is always moving, wiggling, etc. We like to raise them active in this house! Ha.

and.... just a couple out takes (since most photos with these two are outtakes after all!).

(Harps wanted to hold him... fail!
but I think this picture perfectly illustrates their sizes (4 month and almost 3!)

Happy Wednesday!

Happy Birthday Harp-Mermaid Edition!

Hello (far and few!) Blogger Friends!

It is true- I am a HUGE slacker in the blog world- emphasis on slacker.... Oh well! Life is busy chasing two little ones.

This weekend we celebrated Harp's 3rd Birthday (a couple weeks early!) with a mermaid. Since we live in Hawaii I thought it seemed like a fitting theme and Harps has recently become obsessed with all princesses, Aerial is no exception. It was super easy to plan- and the mermaid was the perfect entertainment. Harps was so into the whole thing- best age ever. Be prepared for tons of pictures!

 (isn't this costume unbelievable!)

(I kept the food a bit simpler this year- Sandwiches, Clam Cookies, Seaweed Grapes, "Wave" Chips, Cupcakes, Goldfish, etc).

(We had about 15 kiddos and that seemed like the perfect number!)

(Since 2-3-4 seems to be a pretty active age, I always have side activities. This year we did coloring and "Create your own Mermaid/Merman Crown!).

(and the most hilarious picture- Will had to wheel in and out the mermaid.... and we almost had a bit of a tip over.... too much!)

Happy Happy (early!) Birthday Sweet Harper Girl! Although 3 seems too old, we can't wait to celebrate many more birthdays with you! We feel so blessed to be your mommy and daddy. You are the perfect little girl for our family.

Thankful Tuesday

I am so thankful for these sweet babies... (I actually call them tons of different nicknames... like come on my sweet bunnies and Harps always yells back at me "My Name is Harper Caffery not Bunny!).

(lots of sister love... i promise she was just hugging not covering his mouth)

June?!

Happy June! That means it is officially summer... (although that is not saying much in Hawaii!) and Liam is almost two months old! Crazy how quickly time is flying!!!!!

We are busy this summer with Dance Class, Music Class, Summer Reading Club, and tons of Pool/Beach Time! I love that some of our regular activities have slowed down for the summer so we can truly just hanging out! Since Will has been gone for over a month, I can officially say that I have adjusted to life with two and am loving it (although we do have our crazy moments). I am also loving that Liam is only waking up once a night. After months of no sleep- it is amazing!

H has quite a few goals for the summer-
1. Mastering her tricyle
2. Going on a date with Daddy
3. Going Bowling (random)
4. Going to the movies
5. Playing outside everyday!
6. Get an Elsa Costume

Liam does too...
1. Mastering rolling over
2. Continuing to be a big sweet boy (at 13 lbs!)
3. Trying to only go through 2 outfits a day (instead of our normal 3)
4. Meeting Gigi and Bobo

Yes H is "flying" a big Chinook on the Sidewalk

Happy June 1st!

Mother's Day 2014!

What? Can you believe your eyes... an update?

Well life has been busy!  We have been busy here in the Caff house welcoming our sweet baby boy! William Jay Caffery III "Liam" was born a longggg ten days late at 8 lbs 13 ozs! It was the perfect VBAC experience and ever since has been a whirlwind. Basically Liam was born, my sweet mom came to help visit and help us transition to two,  Will got promoted to Captain (woohoo Capt Caff!) and then Will left for some training for a while (too long if you ask me)! Needless to say the last couple of weeks, I have been trying to get the hang of two (without Daddy around)... and def loving it! (well loving having two babies but missing my husband!). Anyway, I am going to try and update more but for now....

here are my sweet babies!

Liam's Nursery

First and foremost- living in Army housing is an amazing privilege but has its' challenges. I would love to paint both kids rooms (ha well everywhere), add crown molding, change light fixtures, etc but that is not an option. I am sure any renter can relate. I am sure one day I will have all of those options, if and when we own a home, but for now we did the best we could!

Liam's nursery was originally our guest bedroom/Will's office. We rearranged furniture and Harp's upgraded to a Queen Bed. We plan on getting her bunkbeds back on the mainland, but for now we had to make our very limited space work. We are officially growing out of our house. We moved the day bed into Liam's room and I bet it will be a great place to sleep when Will needs a full night of sleep for flying!

(His theme was more inspired by colors at fabric stores!
Thanks Gigi for helping us pick them out in Charleston!)

(not the front one- but the bicycle ones I sewed)

(isn't this blanket adorable- Aunt Bobo made it for Liam!! We adore it!)

(for the bumper I actually found fabric and my amazing, talent friend sewed it!)

and since I took these at night- here is a picture of the valance I had made. Gigi (Will's mom) helped us coordinate with a lady in Charleston who was able to sew it. I think it is adorable and will transfer to other rooms wonderfully as we move around the country/world (?!).

and since I had a jealous sister- here are some pics of her "Big Girl" room.

and just a sweet picture of the day..

(our Elephant lover girl, hugging an Elephant holding her "phante").

ps. Since I posted these pictures, maybe Liam will come? ha. if only...

Insta Update

We have been busy ( or trying to keep busy). Ha if that makes any sense! Baby Liam is officially full term, and although this pregnancy has flown by, the last couple weeks sorta drag. I think every full term pregnancy woman can relate to this. We are just patiently waiting for him to decide when he wants to arrive!  In the mean time, I am enjoying every last minute alone with our Little Harp Girl.

Beach Days... (ps. aren't those glasses so silly- she loves them!)

Will is flying the first Chinook on the Big Island.

Park Dates Galore...

Harps and I walk (use to run!) a two mile loop at least once a day in our neighborhood (walk this baby out!) and part of our loop backs up to a ranch. All of the cows just had babies.
So adorable and tiny.

And please let everyone know.. The Caff house is a Monster Free Zone. Since we made this sign we have had no Monsters in Harp's bed. Thank goodness. Spread the word.

P.S. I finished sewing for Liam's nursery today ! I'll post pictures tomorrow!

Living Art Marine Center

On Oahu there is so many opportunities for kids to explore Marine life. Last week we had the opportunity to go to the Living Art Marine Center in Honolulu- totally recommend it! It is very affordable and perfect for toddlers. Harps learned all about sea creatures, touched them, and then made an amazing t-shirt afterwards with a fish stencil.

As for baby Liam- we are officially in our 36th week! Almost full term but not quite... We are hoping he arrives sometimes in Mid- March (I am hoping the second week of March). Haha but as we all know... babies arrive when they want!! Tomorrow I am planning on posting pictures of his nursery- I just need to finish sewing some pillows (nothing like last minute, right?).

Happy Valentine's Day! (sorta random post to follow!)

Happy Valentine's Day from Harper Girl!

Harps and I had "big" plans to spend the day at the beach... we got there and it started raining! Oy. So we are enjoying a stay at home day instead! Will is gone, off training, so we are making sure to eat extra chocolate for him.

When Will was getting ready for his training and Harps thought his "backpack" was hysterical! So big for such a little girl.

I have spent most of the week remembering my sweet Grandma Alice who passed away this past weekend. She was an amazing inspiring lady (who raised 5!! girls!). She touched many and I am so fortunate to have had her as a Grandma! I am lucky enough to be close with both sets of Grandmas/Grandparents and I am so excited that H will have that bond as well. It is such a unique relationship and that is a huge blessing. Unfortunately with baby W arriving soon, my doctor won't let me make the long flight from Hi --> Mn but I am so happy everyone else could be there to remember and celebrate her life.

and....

Liam's nursery is almost done... and we have almost finished getting everything we need!!! I'll post pictures soon of his nursery. It is crazy how much can change in the baby supply world in just 2 years. Golly. Fortunately, with our second, we have almost everything saved from H and I think (or at least we are) more relaxed with our second already.... Will and I are both like.... ehh does he really need that? Haha we wayyy over bought with Harps. BUT The most exciting additions to our ever-growing baby supplies are...

Aden and Anais swaddle blankets. I just start collecting a couple and I am obsessed.... they have a WHOLE collection of burp clothes, swaddlers, etc. I am not sure how I missed the boat on these with H lady but they seem to be a must have for warmer climate (and in general)... I'll let you know in a couple of weeks!

The BOB Duallie. This is suppose to be the bestttttt double jogger. I am SO excited to use this. Hopefully this will help inspire me to get back in shape asap. (there is an awesome carseat adapter so I can take both out for a run!)
